Mad, scary and bad

Surviving the walk to school each morning

It’s raining, it’s pouring

This morning’s walk was quite uneventful, apart from our gymnastics to avoid being splashed by passing traffic! The road was, for this time of day, fairly quiet. Just a few tussles between umbrellas and untrimmed hedges going to and from school.

When it’s a wet, rainy morning, there’s no hanging around in the playground at school before the whistle goes to line up.  Instead, it’s a quick “bye” before running into the classroom.  So there’s no reason for parents to be waiting round.  I guess that’s why the road was less busy than normal, fewer cars parked on the roadside.  Having said that, there was an interesting stand off between a lorry and a line of cars, further towards town, though I was a bit too far away to get a good picture 😦

Zoomed in to the “stand off”

Today’s scores out of 10:

Traffic volume: 5
Stupid parking: 1
Parking illegally: 2 (several cars parked across driveways)
Manners: 9 (a kind driver stopped to let us cross over to school. Thank you)

  1. I’ve just been looking through my photos from this morning and noticed that a car featuring in one photo (by chance, they just happened to be in the frame, the subject was the lory jam further on) was the same one that a minute or so later swerved towards the pavement and drenched me before driving off at speed!

    Coincidence?
